MacZip
A decent utility to create
.zip files on your Mac.
This
is useful if you are sending files to PC users as they are more likely to have
a utility to unzip these then they are to having a utility to expand a stuffed
(.sit) file. Also, compressing your data before sending it sometimes helps in
the data getting to the recipient uncorrupted.
This
utility is Freeware.

Stuffed for smaller
sending size and keeping on the NT server.

How
to use this utility:
You
can struggle with it or use it this easy way.
Create
an alias of the main app, MacZip (FAT), and put it somewhere it will be easy to
drag and drop files on it to be zipped.
Anything
you drag and drop on it will create a Zip file with the same name plus the .zip
extension.
You
may drop a file or a folder containing many files on. To add two files that are
not in the same folder, you will have to use the advanced mode which is not
very intuitive. Best bet Ð if you have more than one file, put them in a folder
first then Zip them.
Instructions
are included with the app for those of you who want to delve into things more.
Comments:
Using Zip as your file format is a good choice. PCs can open them easily and so
can Macs. Stuffit Expander, free and included with the MacOS and available for
Windows, opens Zipped files.
